AMRON Sound Powered Phone w/ Push Button, Coil Cord & Alligator Clips
Use sound-powered handsets where a safe and reliable method of communications is desirable in the chamber or anywhere when emergency communications are needed where electrical power has failed and normal powered communication isn’t possible.
To operate the handset the user must depress the push button while talking and listening. If the push button is not depressed, the entire handset is off-line and the user cannot listen or speak. This feature is intended for multi-phone setups where it’s desirable that handsets aren’t injecting noise by being on all the time. Multiple handsets are wired together as a parallel circuit anywhere along the 2-conductor cable connecting them.
The transducer-based modules in the earpiece and mouthpiece generate signals entirely from sound waves. No electrical power is required to communicate. Communicating over long distances is not a problem. Cable runs as long as 400 ft. can be used, just connect a handset to each end and talk.
The handset is durable and weatherproof but not IP rated. The user-replaceable transmitter (mouthpiece) and receiver (earpiece) modules (P/N: TRU105) are interchangeable, identical and easy to replace. Just unscrew the covers, remove the modular elements and drop in replacements. The ability to use them interchangeably also makes it easy to troubleshoot – just swap them and talk/listen to determine which to replace.
